13th Annual Houston Echo Review: Boot Camp for 2023 Echo Board Recap

The 13th Annual Houston Echo Review: Boot Camp for 2023 Echo Board, organized by the GHSEV and Texas Heart Institute, was held from April 14 to 15 utilizing a hybrid format, with participants being able to attend live at the Denton A. Cooley Auditorium as well as remotely, and all with on-demand access to the full content. This year’s two-day course was a total success. Participants seeking to prepare for the upcoming ASCeXAM® or to improve their general knowledge of adult echocardiography had an excellent time watching lectures, interactive discussions, and case presentations and interacting one-on-one with our outstanding faculty.

Congratulations to our course Director Dr. Raymond F. Stainback, Program Co-Directors Dr. Enrique Garcia-Sayan and Dr. Ihab Hamzeh, and meeting planner Stephanie Jackson for the excellent organization and program. We want to thank our outstanding nationally and internationally recognized speakers, many of whom are active GHSEV members, for delivering excellent high-yield lectures and joining us despite their busy schedules.

Finally, we would like to thank Boston Scientific Corporation, Bracco, Edwards Lifesciences LLC, and Lantheus for supporting this continuing medical education activity, and each of the exhibiting companies (Abbott MitraClip, AGFA Healthcare, Bristol Myers Squibb, Bracco Diagnostics, Canon Medical, Edwards Lifesciences LLC, GE Healthcare, Philips Medical, Siemens Healthineers) for joining us during the meeting.

For those taking the ASCeXAM® in July, best of luck! We are confident that this course enhanced your preparation. We hope to see everyone again next year. As a bonus to our GHSEV members (especially fellows-in-training taking the exam for the first time), we are planning a fast-paced high-yield board review session a few weeks before the exam. Stay tuned for more details about how to attend our next GHSEV meeting in person or virtually.

Look forward to updates about upcoming educational events throughout the year and exciting new initiatives. And don’t forget to follow/like us on Facebook and Twitter so you don’t miss any updates.
