The 14th Annual Houston Echo Review Boot Camp for the 2024 Echo Board is a two-day virtual course aimed at preparing cardiovascular specialists for the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) examinations, which will take place on April 19 and 20, 2024, using a hybrid format. The course is designed to cover topics similar to those included in the ASCexam scheduled for July 2024. It is a fast-paced review intended to help attendees identify their areas of strength and potential weakness, which they can use to tailor their subsequent self-study program in preparation for the NBE exam. However, participants may find that they would benefit from a more extensive multi-day review course. For this reason, the course is scheduled about 90 days before the NBE examination. The course will cover echo lab quality improvement (QI), and it is beneficial for any practicing echocardiographer, regardless of whether or not they plan to take the NBE exam. The material covered in the course can be helpful for both NBE initial and recertification examination preparation. Sonographers can also attend to improve their clinical knowledge base, but this course should not be used as a single source of information for sonographers preparing for professional credentialing examinations.

The course will provide an overview of echo lab quality improvement (QI). The clinical content and QI material benefit any practicing echocardiographic, regardless of whether or not they plan to take the NBE exam. The participant will find this course helpful in preparing for the NBE initial and recertification examination. Sonographers are encouraged to attend to improve their clinical knowledge base. However, this course should not be a “stand-alone” review for sonographers preparing for professional credentialing examinations.
