We want to thank all of our members who attended our first virtual GHSEV “Scary Cardiovascular Images” last night. Special thanks to the sonographers and physicians who took the time to prepare and submit “scary cases,” and to Robert Gregory from GE for sponsoring the event.
After everyone had an opportunity to network and catch up, our president Dr. Jose Banchs delivered some opening remarks, followed by the presentation of 5 outstanding “spooky” cases by the following sonographers and physicians:
- Jennifer Bailey (Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital)
- Heather Harvey (Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center)
- Carey Hodges (Memorial Hermann – TMC)
- Leticia Vasquez (MD Anderson)
- Dr. Lily Zhang (Baylor Medical College / Ben Taub Hospital)
After the case presentations, every attendee voted for their favorite “spookiest” case, which was a difficult decision as they were all outstanding. Jennifer Bailey will be awarded the grand prize of an annual sonographer membership to the American Society of Echocardiography. Every participant will also receive a complimentary yearly membership in our society.
We had good attendance in this first-ever virtual GHSEV educational and networking event. We hope to see you all at our next holiday meeting on Thursday, December 3, which will be fun and interactive despite the distance. Save the date and stay tuned for more details. Let us know if you have any comments, ideas, or suggestions for future events.
