Save The Date: Scary Cardiovascular Images 2020

Do you have a “scary” echo or vascular case to present at our next GHSEV meeting? The GHSEV is happy to announce that we are resuming our educational and networking sessions with the “Scary Cardiovascular Images” event on Thursday, October 29, 2020.

We will be utilizing a virtual platform, which is a first for our society. However, given the ongoing need to maintain social distancing, we would like to continue our educational mission and to get all of our members back together utilizing this format. On the positive side of things, you can enjoy the interaction with your GHSEV colleagues, fun and educational case presentations, and claim CME credit, all from the comfort of your home or office, and without having to drive to the event and pay for parking.

With that in mind, and considering the success of last year’s Halloween-themed event, we ask that you submit “Scary Echo or Vascular” images/clips in a PowerPoint presentation with a brief description of the study being presented. Instructions for submission and a case example can be found here. The deadline for submission has been extended to October 22.

The GHSEV board will review the submissions and make the difficult decision as to which studies will be presented in our meeting as a 5-minute oral presentation. Sonographers can pair up with an MD from your lab to prepare the case, but this is optional. Several prizes will be given, including a grand prize of an annual sonographer American Society of Echocardiography membership for the best “scariest” case. This virtual event is being sponsored by GE Healthcare, and we thank Robert Gregory for his support to make this possible.

We are all very excited to see your work, and are looking forward to seeing all of you in October! Mark your calendars, spread the word, and post the official flyer in your labs. Register and RSVP here, and stay tuned for further instructions for accessing our webinar platform. Every GHSEV member is welcome to attend, whether you submit a case or not.
