A Very Merry GHSEV 2019 Holiday Meeting

Our traditional annual holiday meeting is our most attended (and fun!) and this year was not exception. Current and new GHSEV members gathered last Thursday December 12 at the Waterside Café (John P. McGovern TMC Commons) for an evening of learning, networking, and fellowship. We had the latest echo and ultrasound technology on display, a fantastic meal catered by Third Coast, and excellent educational talks.

Special thanks to our speakers, Dr. Tyler Moran from Baylor College of Medicine who discussed echocardiographic assessment of the right ventricle, and Dr. Tam Huynh from MD Anderson Cancer Center who presented the complementary role of perioperative duplex examination in the planning for oncologic vascular resections and reconstructions. Look forward to selected conference slides available to members only in our website.

Furthermore, this event was an opportunity for our long-time president Dr. Raymond Stainback to officially pass the baton to our new elected President Dr. Jose Banchs. The board of directors honored Dr. Stainback with a meritorious service award recognizing his tireless work and dedication to our society since the very beginning. We look forward to the continuous growth of our society under Dr. Banchs leadership.

Finally, we would like to extend thanks to our vendors, without whom this event would not have been possible:

  • Siemens Healthineers
  • Lantheus Medical Imaging
  • Canon Medical
  • Bracco
  • Hitachi-Aloka Medical America
  • Digisonics
  • Philips Healthcare
  • Parks Medical Electronics
  • GE Healtchare
  • Epsilon Imaging/Fujifilm-Prosolv

We wish all of our GHSEV members happy holidays and happy new year, and we look forward to seeing all of you in our future events in 2020! Don’t forget to save the date for our Annual Houston Echo Review: Boot Camp for 2020 Echo Board, April 2-4.
